Arrests for February 22, 2018

The Macon County Sheriff’s Department, Franklin Police Department or Jackson County Sheriff’s Department made the following arrests Feb. 12 – 19. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Macon County Sheriff’s Department

February 13

Harris Wayne Smith, 54, of New Smyrna Beach, Fla., was charged with breaking and entering, first degree trespassing, injury to real property. A secured bond of $1,000 was set. Troy L. Burt made the arrest.

Jason Robert Mock, 35, of Franklin, was charged with felonious restraint, communicating threats, injury to personal property, assault on a female, assault by pointing a gun, false imprisonment, misdemeanor larceny. A secured bond of $15,000 was set. William D. Stamey made the arrest.

Asia Lynne Desautels, 26, of Bryson City, was charged with misdemeanor child abuse. An unsecured bond of $2,500. Jonathan Phillips made the arrest.

Edward Alton Murphy II, 58, of Franklin, was charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, conspire to trafficking in methamphetamine, sell methamphetamine, maintaining a place for a controlled substance. A secured bond of $150,000 was set. William D. Stamey made the arrest.

Nathan Shane Humphries, 25, of Franklin was charged with fraud for obtaining property by false pretense, larceny, possessing stolen property. A secured bond of $10,000 was set. Jonathan Phillips made the arrest.

Ashley Deynette Arvey, 19, of Franklin, was charged with fraud for obtaining property by false pretense, larceny, possessing stolen property. A secured bond of $5,000 was set. Jonathan Phillips made the arrest.

Garry Lee Franks, 55, of Franklin, was charged with simple assault. No bond was set. Audrey Parrish made the arrest.

Joshua Ryan Wiggin, 25, of Franklin,  was charged with breaking and/or entering, felony larceny, obtaining property by false pretense, possession of stolen goods/property. A secured bond of $42,000 was set. Mike Langley Sr. made the arrest.

February 14

Clarence James McCall, 25, of Highlands, was charged with simple physical assault on a female. No bond was set. David F. Head made the arrest.

Dustin Edward Harvey, 20, of Franklin, was charged with failure to appear for driving while license revoked not impaired revocation, expired/no inspection, expired registration card/tag. A secured bond of $1,000 was set. William D. Stamey made the arrest.

Sharron Nicely, 26, of Franklin, was charged with larceny by an employee, identity theft. A secured bond of $8,000 was set. Willaim D. Stamey made the arrest.

Vanessa Dawn Ensley, 26, of Franklin, was charged with failure to appear. A secured bond of $3,000 was set. James E. Crawford III made the arrest.

Zachary James Warman, 26, of Franklin, was charged with driving while license revoked not impaired revocation. A secured bond of $800 was set. Mike Langley Sr. made the arrest.

Carrie Elaine Enloe, 21, of Franklin was charged with failure to appear for possession of marijuana up to 1/2 oz,  possession of marijuana paraphernalia. A $1,000 bond was set. Mike Langley Sr. made the arrest.

Jason Stamey, 33, of Franklin, was charged with assault on a female, assault by strangulation, flee/elude arrest with a motor vehicle, reckless driving with wanton disregard, assault on a law enforcement officer causing serious injury, assault with a deadly weapon on a government official, injury to personal property, driving wrong way on dual lane, resisting a public officer, littering not over 15 lbs, possession with intent to sell/deliver a schedule II controlled substance, maintaining a vehicle/dwelling/place for a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia. A $500,000 bond was set. James E. Crawford III made the arrest.

Kathy Fay Nicole Atcheson, 22, of Franklin, was charged with failure to appear for misdemeanor breaking and entering, injury to personal property. A secured bond of $20,000 was set. Jonathan A. Taylor made the arrest.

James Fred Hurst, 43, of Franklin, was charged with hit and run failure to remain at scene-felonious, misdemeanor, breaking and entering, injury to personal property, first degree trespass. A secured bond of $20,000 was set. Jonathan A. Taylor made the arrest.

Silvana Lisa Bettencourt, 39, of Franklin, was charged with simple assault, communicating threats. No bond was set. Audrey Parrish made the arrest.

February 12

Lianna K. Odom, 29, of Perryman Cabe Rd., Otto, was charged with driving while intoxicated for alcohol, open container, following too closely, failure to comply with license restrictions. A $500 bond was set. Timothy J. Lynn made the arrest.

February 13

Steven Gerald Knight, 34, of Curtic St., possession of a firearm by a felon. A secured bond of $10,000 was set. Randy S. Dula made the arrest.

February 16

Joshua Blake Gerrald, 25, of Ray Creek Rd., Franklin, was issued an order for arrest for driving while intoxicated failure to comply. A secured bond of $1,000 was set. Randy S. Dula made the arrest.

Kenneth Wayne Underwood, 49, of Tatham Rd., Otto, was charged with fugitive warrant for grand theft auto, probation violation. A secured bond of $15,000 was set. Randy S. Dula made the arrest.

Daylon Ashton Ammons, 19, of Sam Corn Rd., Otto, was issued a warrant for injury to property. An unsecured bond of $2,000 was set. Randy S. Dula made the arrest.

February 12

Danielle Leigh White, 48, of Lakeside Dr., Franklin, was issued a fugitive warrant for probation violation. A $25,000 bond was set. Chrystal D. Deitz made the arrest.

David Christain Griffith, 38, of Blind Side Lane, Cashiers, was charged with obtaining property by false pretense, financial card fraud, larceny, breaking and entering of a motor vehicle, possessing stolen property, conspire to break and enter a building larceny, larceny after breaking and entering, breaking and entering forcible, breaking and entering, possession of burglary tools, possession of a schedule II controlled substance, breaking and entering of a motor vehicle non-forcible, attempted breaking and entering forcible. A $150,000 bond was set. Robert E. Porter made the arrest.

Frank Joseph McCoy, 24, of Charlie Johnson Rd., Cherokee, was charged with failure to appear for school attendance law violation. A $5,000 bond was set. Jesse L. Henkel made the arrest.

Sheri Ann Simpson, 40, of Lantana Dr., was issued an order for arrest for possession of a firearm by felon. A $5,000 bond was set. Robert E. Porter made the arrest.

David Christain Griffith, 38, of Blind Side Lane, Cashiers, was charged with possessing stolen property, larceny after breaking and entering, breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. A $10,000 bond was set. Robert E. Porter  made the arrest.

Jeff Michael Srebernak, 50, of Browning Rd., was charged with animal control ordinance violation. No bond was set. Kenneth D. Woodring made the arrest.

David Christain Griffith, 38, of Blindside Lane, Cashiers, was charge with failure to appear on a felony. A $20,000 bond was set. Mark C. Junaluska made the arrest.

Shira Lynn Littlejohn, 28, of Noah Geneva Ledford Dr., Cherokee, was charged with failure to appear for shoplifting. A $750 bond was set. William K. Davis made the arrest.

Ricky Lee Hefner, 37, of Elm St., Franklin, was charged with assault on a female, injury to personal property, communicating threats, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a schedule II controlled substance. A $4,000 bond was set. Conner L. Wilson made the arrest.

Micheal Ray Rochester, 38, of Mills Branch Rd., was charged with resist/delay/obstruct. A $1,000 bond was set. Jesse L. Henkel made the arrest.

Thomas Watson Ward, 32, of McCree Dr., Cherokee, was charged with possession of counterfeit currency, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a schedule II controlled substance. A $10,000 bond was set. Robert E. Porter made the arrest.

Valchan Hristov Valchanov, 41, of Brandywine Circle, Atlanta, Ga., was charged with attempt to obtain property by false pretense. A $240,000 bond was set. William M. Hawkins made the arrest.

Bryce Alexanader Lobaugh, 26, of Peacock Way, Maggie Valley, was charged with  possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver a schedule I controlled substance, failure to appear for driving while license revoked not impaired revocation. A $7,500 bond was set. Robert E. Porter made the arrest.

Brad Steven Ohison, 52, of Mill Creek Rd., Cullowhee, was charged with carrying a concealed gun. A $1,000 bond was set. Stephen B. Watson made the arrest.

Alfredo Juarez Gonzalez, 33, of Windchime Lane, Cashiers, was charged with breaking and entering terrorize/injure. A $5,000 bond was set. Megan L. Rhinehart made the arrest.

Jacob Alexander Oakley, 29, of Junebug Trail, was charged with assault on a female. No bond was set. Jesse L. Henkel made the arrest.

Eric Paul Quinn, 38, of Beta Rd., was charge with resist/delay/obstruct, driving while intoxicated for alcohol and/or drugs. A $500 bond was set. Jesse L. Henkel made the arrest.
