Officers from the Macon County Sheriff’s Office, Franklin Police Department, and Highlands Police Department traded in their badges for aprons last Thursday for the 2nd annual Tip a Cop fundraiser at Motor Company Grill. Over the course of three hours, law enforcement officers waited tables for tips, earning $3,000 for the county’s Shop with a Cop Program. This year will mark the 20th year of the Shop With a Cop program, which started out with just three children and has since grown to serve more than 400 children, making their Christmas a little brighter.
