John Austin Hampton
John Austin Hampton, 75, passed away November 2, 2015. John was born March 18, 1940 in Millinocket, ME to Milton C. Hampton and Christine Harmon Hampton. John was married to the late Emma Dorothy Pruitt Hampton for 35 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was of the Christian faith.
Survivors include a daughter, Carrie Ives (Phillip) of Franklin; one sister, Nancy Hampton of Huntsville, Alabama; three granddaughters, Lea Banther (Bob), Sebrina Yqlesias (Kyle Davidson); and Lora Robin and her fiancé, Robert Scott; and five great‑grandchildren, McKayla, Brayzen, Luke, Kyler, and Rolland.
A memorial service will be held Friday, March 4, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at the Bryant‑Grant Funeral Home Chapel. The family will greet friends following the service at the funeral home.

Inez Leora Solesbee
Inez Leora Solesbee, age 101, of Topton, NC went to be with her Lord and Saviour, February 28, 2016 at the home of her son, David of Nantahala. She was the daughter of the late Tom and Effie Jane Younce Owenby, the wife of the late Claude Czar Solesbee, who died May 20, 1996. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Solesbee, two sisters, Julia Owenby (Newell) and Helen Waters, (Lawton), and one brother, Don Owenby.
She had worked as a seamstress and had worked as a cook in the lunchroom at Otter Creek School. She was a loving mother, grand, great and great‑great‑grandmother. She was a very active member of Maco Crafts and she liked gardening. She was a member of White Oak Flats Baptist church, where she was a former choir member.
She survived by a son, David Solesbee (Shelvagine) of Nantahala, NC; daughter‑in‑law, Kathryn of Franklin, NC; six grandchildren, thirteen great‑grandchildren and nineteen great‑grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at 2:00 pm at White Oak Flats Baptist Church, with Rev. S. J. Waters and Rev. Homer Wilson officiating. Burial will be at Aquone Baptist Church Cemetery. Grand and great‑grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The family received friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm, Wednesday, one hour prior to the service at White Oak Flats Baptist Church.

Eva Eleanor Lewis
Eva Eleanor Lewis, 83, of Franklin, passed away Friday, February 26, 2016.
Born in Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Fred L. Nichols, Sr. and Effie P. Carpenter Nichols. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Lewis; son, Terry Lee “Baldy” Quesenberry; sisters, Rosa Lee Nichols and an infant sister; brothers, Allen R. Nichols and Fred L. Nichols, Jr. She was a member of Maiden’s Chapel Methodist Church. Eleanor was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening and travel.
She is survived by a son, Bobby Lewis of Highlands and two sisters, Belva Edwards of Franklin and Annie “Georgia” Zachary of Columbia, W.VA; two grandchildren, Kaitlin and Kenan Lewis and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at time 2 p.m. Sunday, March 6, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Paul Christy will officiate. Burial will be in the Maiden’s Chapel Cemetery.

Bill Peggs, 55, of Franklin, NC, passed away Friday, February 26, 2016.
Born in Bloomington, IN, he was the son of the late David Peggs and Johni Lecompt Peggs. He was a U.S. Marine Corp veteran; mechanic with American Airlines and was a pharmacy tech for Walmart. Bill was a Chicago Cubs fan; a huge George Jones fan; a rock hound; and enjoyed golf; but most of all he loved and cherished his family.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Rev. Bonnie Peggs; three children, Shana Kowalewski and husband Guy of Franklin, NC, Julie Combs of Franklin, NC and Chris Combs of Chicago, IL; one brother, Steve Peggs of Germantown, TN; two sisters, Debbie McCallen and Teresa Crosby both of Germantown, TN; five grandchildren, Jacquelyn, Jared, Tyler, Samantha and Josh and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service was held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Vic Greene and Rev. Gene Price will officiate. Military rites will be conducted by the VFW Post 7339 and the American Legion Post 108.
The family received friends from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the service at Macon Funeral Home.

Ann Noble Huston
Ann Noble Huston, 85, went home to be with the Lord Monday, February 22, 2016. Mrs. Huston was born Bronxville, New York March 30, 1930 to the late Luther and Dorrie Lee Carrie Huston. She was a nurse for many years working for Dr. Harmon until her retirement. Ann was a member of the Episcopal Faith attending St. Agnus in her early years.
A funeral service was held as 3 P.M. Thursday, February 25, 2016 at Bryant‑Grant Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Forest Jones officiating. A private burial followed the service.
Ms. Huston has no surviving family but was well cared for by Ann Hall, her family, and friends.
