The Macon County Sheriff’s Department, Franklin Police Department or Jackson County Sheriff’s Department made the following arrests June 28 – July 8. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Macon County Sheriff’s Department 

July 1

Austin Lee Connally, 32, of Franklin, was charged with child support enforcement contempt. A secured bond of $26,461 was set. Clay A. Saunders made the arrest. 

Amanda Kay Dempsey, 53, of Otto, was charged with failure to appear for driving while license revoked, notice to revoke unsupervised probation failure to pay fine. A secured bond of $4,000 was set. Mike Langley Sr. made the arrest. 

Tyler Jordan Terry Harden, 24, of Franklin, was charged with all other offenses. No bond was set. Mike Langley Sr. made the arrest. 

July 2

Reid Alexander Hampton, 21, of Franklin, was charged with possession of stolen goods/property, misdemeanor larceny. A secured bond of $500 was set. Mike Langley Sr. made the arrest. 

Tiegha Shaye Franklin, 35 of Franklin, was charged with failure to appear for misdemeanor larceny. A secured bond of $2,000 was set. Mike Langley Sr. made the arrest. 

July 3

Vanessa Helena Batista Petros, 45, of Sarasota, Fla., was charged with driving under the influence, open container after consumption of alcohol. An unsecured bond of $500 was set. Troy L. Burt made the arrest. 

July 5

Alvin sharriod Anderson, 32, of Franklin, was charged with out of state felony for Gwinnett County, fugitive out of state felony for Oconnee County. A secured bond of $240,000 was set. Mike Langley Sr. made the arrest. 

July 7

Justin Caleb Hurst, 34, of Franklin, was charged with simple possession of a schedule IV controlled substance. A secured bond of $5,000 was set. Christian M. Houston made the arrest. 

July 8

Scott Erskine Monteith, 50, of Franklin, was charged with assault on a female. No bond was set. Jordan C. Sutton made the arrest. 

John Carver, 42, of Franklin, was charged with driving while license revoked not impaired revocation, fictitious/cancelled/revoked registration card/tag, operate a vehicle with no insurance. An unsecured bond of $600 was set. Christian M. Houston made the arrest.

July 1

Carolyn Elizabeth Loftis, 29, of Camp Creek Rd., Whittier, was charged with shoplifting. An unsecured bond of $250 was set. E. D. Kirkland made the arrest. 

July 5

James Edward Hughes II, 41, of Lake Emory Rd., was charged with possession of methamphetamine. A secured bond of $3,000 was set. R. S. Dula made the arrest.

June 28

Joshua David Deal, 44, of Plott Creek Rd., Waynesville, was charged with failure to appear for expired registration card, driving while license revoked impaired revocation. A secured bond of $500 was set. 

James Glenn Rhinehart, 46, of Old Cullowhee, Cullowhee, was charged with failure to appear for assault on a female, domestic violence protective order violation. A secured bond of $11,000 was set. 

Charles Thomas McCall, 51, of Zeb Alley Rd., Cashiers, was issued a child support purge. A $600 bond was set. 

Cory Robert Pressley, 38, of Shirley Pressley Rd., Glenville, was charged with failure to appear for carrying a concealed gun, driving while license revoked. A secured bond of $1,000 was set. 

June 29

Billy Ray Barker, 41, of Wilson Dr., was charged with failure to appear for failure to wear seat belt driver, misdemeanor probation violation out of county, driving while license revoked not impaired revocation, possession of marijuana up to 1/2 oz, possession of methamphetamine, no liability insurance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana paraphernalia, possession of open container/consume alcohol pasanger area, drive/allow motor vehicle with no registration, canceled/revoked/suspended certificate/tag, fictitious/altered title/registration card/tag, operate a vehicle with no insurance, expired no inspection, driving while license revoked impaired revocation. No bond was set. 

Rigoberto Amrocio Garcia, 25, of Happy Hollow Rd., was charged with drive left of center, flee/elude arrest with a motor vehicle. A $500 bond was set. 

Joseph Gerald Cook, 38, of Close Rd., Chatanooga, Tenn., was charged with failure to appear for communicating threats, no operators license, probation violation. A secured bond of $7,500 was set.

Katrina Lynn Cook, 32, of Casino Trail, Cherokee, was charged with failure to appear for possession of a schedule I controlled substance. A secured bond of $2,500 was set. 

June 30

Edgar Merales Paz, 30, of Wayah St. Franklin, was charged with failure to appear for driving while license revoked, possession of methamphetamine felony probation violation, driving while license revoked, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of methamphetamine. A secured bond of $14,000 was set. 

Samuel Wahnetah, 24, of Bradley Dr., Cherokee, was issued a true bill of indictment for failure to appear on a felony. A secured bond of $2,5000 was set. 

Jose Luis Zalapa-Silva, 23, of Cashiers, was charged with failure to appear for possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of methamphetamine. A secured bond of $10,000 was set. 

James Robert Bagley, 44, of Sylva, was charged with assault on a female. No bond was set.

Cody Douglas Woodard, 25, of Swayne Rd., Cherokee, was charged with assault on a female. No bond was set. 

July 1

David Lee Snyder, 38, of Yorkshire Dr., was issued an order for arrest for a true bill of indictment for felony possession of a schedule I controlled substance. A secured bond of $5,000 was set. 

Antonio Lamont Smith, 46, of Hornbuckle, Cherokee was charged with failure to appear for identity theft, misdemeanor larceny.  A secured bond of $6,000 was set. 

Jacobey Bernard Corbin, 23, of Apachie Trail S.W., Atlanta, Ga., was charged with carrying a concealed gun, resisting a public officer. No bond was set. 

July 2

Tina Michelle Thomas, 49. of Walnut Cove Rd., Tuckasegee, was charged with kidnapping/abduct. A secured bond of $10,000 was set. 

David Thomas Harris, 47, of Bluehawk Rd., was charged with failure to appear for Swain County driving while intoxicated. A secured bond of $5,000 was set. 

Kenneth Wayne Edwards, 49, of Dillsboro Rd., was charged with failure to appear for misdemeanor probation violation. An unsecured bond of $2,000 was set. 

July 3

Dennis James Cope,  48, of East Cope Creek, was issued warrant Service for other jurisdiction Haywood County, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of methamphetamine. A secured bond was set. 

Nolan David Neesam, 23, of Camp Creek Rd., Whittier, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, simple possession of marijuana, communicating threats, assault with a deadly weapon. An unsecured bond of $500 was set. 

July 4

Crystal Bevin Fann,  29, of Union Hill Rd., Whittier, was charged with simple assault. No bond was set. 

Karl Troy Marsh, 51, of Bradley Branch Rd., Whittier, was charged with assault on a female. No bond was set. 

Kimberly Dawn Webb, 46, of Franklin Grove Rd., Bryson City, was charged with failure to appear for injury to real property, felony break/enter place of worship, simple possession of a schedule II controlled substance. A secured bond of $20,000 was set. 

Amanda Lee Mezyk, 30, of Young Blood Lane Sapphire, was charged with conspire to break/enter building, possession of stolen goods/property, larceny after break/enter, breaking and entering, uttering a  forged instrument, obtaining property by false pretense, possession of counterfeit instrument. . A secured bond of $20,000 was set.

Walter Lewis Underwood,  40, of Zeb Alley, Cashiers, was charged with conspire to break/enter building, possession of stolen goods/property, larceny after break/enter, breaking and/or entering, simple possession of a schedule V controlled substance, simple possession of a schedule IV controlled substance, maintaining a vehicle/dwelling/place for a controlled substance, felony possession of a schedule IV controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine, conspire to break and entering a building felony/larceny, possession of stolen goods/property, larceny after break/enter, breaking and entering, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a firearm by a felon. A secured bond of $105,000 was set. 

Brittany Marie Lynch, 27, of Sylva, was charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle, first degree trespass enter/remain. A secured bond of $5,000 was set. 

David Charles Roberts, 39, of Sylva, was charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle, felony probation violation for out of county, first degree trespass enter/remain, possession of burglary tools, breaking or entering, felony probation violation for out of county, misdemeanor probation out of county. A secured bond of $35,000 was set. 

Eric Clifton Mathis, 39, of Sols Creek Church Rd., Tuckasegee, was charged with simple assault by show of force. No bond was set. 

Robert Lynn Mathis, 55, of Sols Creek Church Rd., Tuckaseegee, was charged with simple assault by show of force. No bond was set.
