The Arts Council of Macon County sponsored an Artists-in-Schools event last week with Sean Gaskell performing at the local head start as well as a performance at the library for the public. Gaskell plays the kora, a 21-string gourd-bottomed harp-like instrument which dates back more than 300 years and is native to the Mandinka people of West Africa. Photo by Vickie Carpenter
