Cowee Christmas Celebration preserves heritage, promotes local economy

The halls of the Historic Cowee School were full of holiday spirit last Saturday for the second annual Cowee Christmas Celebration.

“The Second Annual Cowee Christmas was warm and festive and well attended,” Claire Suminski, one of the event organizers and board member of the Cowee Community Development Organization. “One of the vendors said to me, ‘There is so much joy and laughter here. Very different feel than recent craft shows I have been a part of.’ That made me very happy.”

Cowee Christmas was the final stop of the Heritage Progressive Event, an annual event held to celebrate the rich heritage of the community.
