Franklin High School graduated 224 seniors in the Class of 2016 last Thursday at the annual commencement program held at the Liston B. Ramsey Regional Activity Center at Western Carolina University.

The ceremony opened with the FHS Chamber Singers singing the national anthem and under the direction of FHS Chorus Director Robert Jessup, the Chamber singers also sang “Goodbye, My Friend” and “Omnia Sol” throughout the program closing with the FHS school song.

Salutatorian Kennedy Moritz offered advice to the graduating class, followed by the senior address by Valedictorian Alexander Bumgarner. James Madison University Head Football Coach and former Franklin High School Panther Mike Houston was introduced as the guest speaker by FHS Class President Jackson Perone.
