Trump has not paid his fair share
Growing up in isolated Jackson County, North Carolina, in the ’40s, ’50s and ’60s I had little awareness of local political events. Much less about national and international affairs. My family was probably low middle class. But, we paid our taxes as law-abiding people. Three of my brothers and I were volunteer military in 1965. I believed, illogically, that all males had to serve in the military.
Meanwhile up in New York Donald Trump dodged the draft under the pretense that he had bone spurs in his feet. In addition, there is doubt that either young Trump or his family paid their share of taxes. Their motto -“Don’t pay. Don’t serve.”
Now, the man who didn’t pay and didn’t serve is bragging about making up for his failure by using poor people’s taxes to fund the military at a very high level. He still hasn’t paid his fair share. His sons have not paid or served either. They prefer that poor people serve in the military.
Trump belittled John McCain. He stiffed America’s Intelligence organizations on which the Armed Services rely. He has sided publically with three tyrants who pose a threat to democracy. He advocates selling weapons to warmongers. He chooses to give nuclear technological info to those who practice genocide.
You don’t have to be a veteran to be a competent president. You should, however, show proper respect to those who have served.
There is a bumper sticker that says,“All gave some. Some gave all.” One exception: Trump gave nothing – no taxes and no time.

Time to turn the tables on the Dems
It’s time we turn the tables on the Leftists and give them a bit of their own trash talk.
While President Trump is sometimes criticized in foreign countries, the fact is most of them would give their left arm to have someone like Trump as their leader.
America is special and leads the world in freedom and liberty.
Ocasio Cortez said, “waitresses earning a living is the same thing as being an indentured servant.” Whoa, hoss, that’s the very definition of Socialism using indentured labor. Doesn’t she know that? Bernie Sanders does.
Maybe it’s time for another Mueller investigation but this time to find out if the Dems are getting financial support from the drug cartels.
Seems very suspicious to me, as Nancy Pelosi on one hand says that we are being inhumane by trying to stop millions of illegal aliens from invading our country, but at the same time allowing drugs, child sex slavery and criminals to flow over our borders like water; 128,000 caught at the border in May and probably another 100,000 that were not caught.
Don’t the millions of destroyed American families mean anything to Dems? Does Nancy just not care as long as her party gains control of our lives?
Are she and other Dems colluding with the Mexican drug cartels? Just asking. Drug cartels control 80% of Mexico and effectively control most of the drug and sex traffic in America with their tentacles everywhere.
Apparently in fear of an uprising if the Dems are successful in forcing our elected president out of office and replacing him with a Socialist demagogue to do the bidding of the government bosses, there is a call to disarm Americans.
Big question is will the crooks and drug dealers turn in their guns too?
I can see it now, Joe the Robber meekly turns in his guns? Yeah sure.
Truth be known, there are things that can be done to protect us from the psychopaths that end up shooting innocent people as we just saw in Virginia Beach. There are specialists who can identify people who are unable to control their impulses. We can see signs of this defect even in early grade school.
Stripped of their guns, the British are now looking at licensing knives which replaced guns as a murder weapon. The UK crime rate has risen horribly, using knives instead of guns and ordinary citizens have no way to protect themselves and families.
No doubt China will interfere with our 2020 elections through social media and work to get Joe Biden elected because Trump has imposed tariffs that cut off a lot of the flow of American money to build up their military. They believe because the Biden family owes them money Biden will eliminate the tariffs.
By the way, Russia was hoping Hillary Clinton would be elected since they could buy more of our uranium.
As the smoke clears it has become obvious that the Trump/Russia hoax was a way for the Dems to cover up their own misdeeds. Unfortunately, Donald Trump, just being a successful businessman, stepped into a manure pile and the swamp of bribable politicians and glad to say, he cannot be bribed. If Jesus had been elected, the Left would have come down on him as well.

Biblical faith is more than just a blind leap
Last week in church, our youth minister spoke about passing the metaphorical baton to the next generation. That baton represents “the faith once for all delivered to the saints.” (Jude 3) Faith is an often misunderstood concept. Many believe that it is a blind leap, based on emotion or upbringing. But Hebrews 11:1 defines faith this way: “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for; the evidence of things not seen.” So then, Biblical faith, though not seeing, is something substantial, based on solid evidence. God does not expect us to “check our brains at the door.”
A couple of weeks ago, I came upon what appeared to be an accident scene on NC28 a few miles south of Bryson City. An ambulance went by, and I was directed to stop and wait while the police and rescuers did their work. I was not an eye-witness, but as a casual observer, I knew generally that some sort of accident with injuries occurred. To understand the details, some investigation had to be done by the police in order to determine what happened and who was at fault. The police were not eye-witnesses to what happened. But they are able to piece together the evidence and get a very good idea of what happened.
Similarly, Biblical faith involves a look at what the eye-witnesses (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, and others) have to say. But there is a major difference. No one could predict the above accident would occur. But the Old Testament prophets did just that, hundreds of years before the events of the New Testament took place, and with amazing detail and 100 percent accuracy. So by comparing what they predicted, with what actually happened, according to Jesus and the apostles, we can obtain a wonderfully accurate understanding upon which to build our faith. Jesus and the apostles also quoted from the Old Testament often, including the often maligned and discredited first 11 chapters of Genesis. Clearly, they believed that part of Genesis to be historical and factual. John even refers to Jesus as being the Creator Himself. “All things were made by Him and without was not anything made that was made.” (John 1:3) Paul, referring to Jesus, said, “… by Him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones or powers or rulers or authorities, all things were created by Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.” (Colossians 1:16-17) Surely Jesus, as the Creator and Sustainer of everything that exists, knew how He did it!
But for those who doubt, Jesus willingly provides substance and evidence to bolster their faith. Consider “doubting” Thomas. When the disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord!”, he said to them, “Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.” Jesus did not condemn him for his doubt. A week later, Jesus appeared again to the disciples, and this time Thomas was with them. Jesus said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.”
Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!”
Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
And that is what Biblical faith is.
