Getting to the truth should be priority

Wouldn’t it be great if we could get our news the way we get our weather report? The weather report is based on raw facts, and predictions are based on the reliability of the absolute natural law.  We know we are hearing truth.

Not so with the news however. If people are only getting their news from the mainstream media, then they are being misinformed. If channels like MSNBC, CNN, ABC news are not balanced out with conservative narratives like Fox News’ Hannity and/or Laura Ingram, for example, or online sources such as billo’reilly.com, then we are in grave trouble. Why? Because the cable news media  is controlled by six large, left leaning corporations, highly Trump hating and dedicated to destroying the Trump presidency. They have an agenda and it is dispensed daily, bashing Trump by criticizing, condemning, and misrepresenting him or just presenting news that isn’t true or not substantiated by reliable sources.

You never hear anything positive about his accomplishments, and they are many; instead, even these are made to sound bad, when and if they are even reported. They have abandoned the time honored integrity of the press that used to present facts, from named and confirmed sources. What we are getting today is commentary, not news.

Whether you like the president or not, even if you disagree with him, in the interest of fairness it should be a priority to get to the truth. Since he is not a Washington DC insider, the corrupt “deep state” we have now is resisting him with everything they have.

Though he is no boy scout, I believe our president loves his country and his goal is to restore the traditional values upon which this nation was founded, and to prosper us once again. And despite the fact that he has to daily defend himself against the negative onslaught he faces, he has accomplished a lot. He is criticized, for example, for reducing the taxes on large corporations (the “rich”). Yet this is precisely what is bringing them back to America and providing unprecedented job opportunities, resulting in the lowest unemployment rates since the ’60s! This helps the poor and middle classes bring in more income so it is a reasonable strategy. To accuse him of “subverting his oath of office” or “poisoning the presidency” seems to be evidence of a saturation with the agenda being offered by a media who routinely discards honesty, truth and verification of source information.

What is so alarming is the increase of interest in the Left’s propaganda towards Socialism, which is what the Democratic party is offering us. No, they are not the party of yesteryear. They have abandoned God, and embraced big government to the extent that they would control our lives, withdraw our freedoms, and collapse our economy. It is very disturbing that the contenders for the Democratic nomination have gotten as far as they have, offering us promises of an easy life, that the government will provide economic equality without any effort on our part, and that all needs will be met on an equal basis. That is the lie of Socialism. Look at countries like Cuba and Venezuela, once prosperous and beautiful, after Socialism, now havens of poverty while those in control live in luxury. Why do so many want to come to America and escape their own countries? Because of  freedom and the opportunity to advance oneself if one is willing to apply oneself and work hard. We still have the ideal of a government “of the people, by the people, for the people,” which will all be sacrificed on the altar of lies and unreality, if we embrace Socialism. It would be over for us, with no way to come back.

The hatred that has resulted from extremists citing every pronouncement “racist” that doesn’t line up with their positions on “political correctness” is tearing this nation apart. Sure we have problems to work out. But if we could eliminate the hatred and prejudice that has been incited against our president, it would be the first step in the direction of moving towards unity rather than division.

I think what President Kennedy proposed still stands: “Let us not seek the Republican answer or the Democratic answer, but the right answer.” To me, it is a big deception to presume and believe that President Trump is a threat to democracy. Rather, I believe, if we as a nation are to survive in this present day situation, especially when Socialism is the alternative offered, President Trump may be our only hope.

FHS band deserved better press coverage

I was very pleased that your paper included an article about FHS’s marching band and their excellent performance at the Lake Lanier Tournament.  Marching band students work for hours and hours practicing their drills, not to mention the time practicing individually to master their instrument. School systems give little financial support to marching bands.  The uniforms, instruments, music, band entry fees, etc. usually must be raised by the kids themselves. That this school in 2A division did so well is unheard of.

Yet, in their moment of well-earned recognition, you chose to devote half the article to the varsity cheerleading squad.  Although it was commendable that the squad supported their school, the cheerleaders did not win the awards.  They only sat in the stands and watched their fellow students win.  Not one band student got their name in the paper, save the band student related to the cheerleaders you interviewed.  The band students deserved recognition, and they deserved better from your paper.  I ask that you correct your oversight by making a donation to the FHS marching band, and ask your readers to do the same.

Thank you,

Look at the original intent of Second Amendment

Lately, we have seen many discussions about the origin of the Second Amendment of our Constitution. Arguments on any side of this discourse are often devoid of facts or actual historical references. So, let’s look at how the Second Amendment came to be part of the Constitution that birthed our republic in 1787.

James Madison, a Founding Father, played a prominent leadership role in the American Revolution and was a leading author of our Federal Constitution and he used his influence in Virginia politics to organize the Constitutional Convention. Much of our Constitution was influenced by Madison’s writings from the Federalist Papers and from his Virginia Plan, which was his plan for the organization of a new federal government.

He was also author of the Second Amendment. He wrote this amendment with his eye focused on practical politics. He introduced the amendment during Virginia’s debate over the ratification of the Constitution, because Virginia Governor Patrick Henry saw danger in Article 1, Section 8, of the proposed Constitution, which gives Congress the power to provide for “organizing, arming, and disciplining” militias. Governor Henry feared Congress could undermine the ability of  local militias in Virginia and elsewhere in the South to suppress slave uprisings and pursue runaway slaves.

It took Madison two drafts to get the Second Amendment into the single sentence it is today. His careful wording was deliberate. In drawing a connection between militias and the right to bear arms rather than simply defending the right to bear arms, Madison, a slave holder himself, was speaking to his state’s own ruling powers. (see Anthony F. Picadio, 2019 Pennsylvania Bar Quarterly and Transpartisan Review, and Carl T. Bogus, Davis Law Review of 1998.)

The Second Amendment has gone under judicial review in the face of newly enacted laws many times since 1787. Organizations with dubious business intentions have successfully lobbied the Congress to create laws the majority of Americans do not support.  However, the original intent of this amendment, that States can support an armed militia (National Guard), has never been contested.

A letter to Mr. Self-Righteous Intellectual

You can criticize President Trump’s policies, and I will acknowledge your right to do so. But you resorted to condemning a man because of his past. The most righteous Man who ever lived never did that. It was the religious leaders and the scholars of His day who did it. “And the Pharisees and their scribes grumbled at his disciples, saying, “Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?” And Jesus answered them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance.”(Luke 5:30-32)

I’m glad you never slept with anyone other than your wife. But according to that Man, that will not be enough. “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart.”(Matthew 5:27-28) So, Mr. Self-Righteous, failing that test, my guess is that you aren’t any better than the one you are criticizing. “The scribes and the Pharisees brought a woman who had been caught in adultery, and placing her in the midst they said to him, “Teacher, this woman has been caught in the act of adultery. Now in the Law, Moses commanded us to stone such women. So what do you say?” This they said to test him, that they might have some charge to bring against him. Jesus bent down and wrote with his finger on the ground. And as they continued to ask him, he stood up and said to them, “Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her.” And once more he bent down and wrote on the ground. But when they heard it, they went away one by one, beginning with the older ones, and Jesus was left alone with the woman standing before him. Jesus stood up and said to her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?” She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said, “Neither do I condemn you; go, and from now on sin no more.” (John 8:4-11) Here we see the same group cited earlier attacking this woman for her sinful act. He did not condemn the woman, but rather, her self-righteous accusers. His only requirement for the woman was to repent of her sin. There is every reason to believe that President Trump has done this. He doesn’t need this job. If he did, he wouldn’t give his $400,000/year salary away to charity. I am grateful to him for being willing to sacrifice his retirement years to serve the country he obviously loves, despite unrelenting persecution from the Deep State, including Democrats, and their affiliate and “accomplice-in-crime”- the mainstream media, the “rinos”, the intelligence organizations, the justice department, the foreign players, etc.

Are you sure President Trump is “willfully ignorant”? Maybe he knows some things you don’t know. Like the fact that the greenhouse gas effect you spoke of is anything but settled science. It looks like you need to take your own advice. Stop relying on the “climate-change-is-going-to-kill-us-all” experts, like Al Gore, who continues to ride around in his private jet, while condemning us for our SUV’s. Or the  Obama’s, who just spent millions on a beach-front home, sure to be inundated with rising sea levels in the very near future. If our President’s “willful ignorance” is to be condemned as immoral, what about your own ignorance?  Since good science must remain open to criticism by scientists with opposing viewpoints, why not take your own advice and begin informing yourself by reading this:  https://creation.com/global-warming-and-climate-change-recent-developments

Political corruption constitutes high treason

It’s beginning to look like at least some Dems, who in reality are Socialists, are guilty of treason.

Imagine if you will, the police and the FBI show up at your home one day and demand to search your home for something illegal.   You rightfully ask whether they have a search warrant and they ignore your question and in fact they do not have one.  They are there for the sole purpose of trying to find some law you may have broken.  And no, you won’t be able to have a lawyer represent you.

In the meantime, they tear your house apart looking for anything they can use to charge you with a crime.  Even your tax returns are not sacrosanct including your bank statements, your medicine cabinet and even your clothes closet. And, of course, they confiscate your computer and social media stuff.

Then, they interview your neighbors one by one to search for some possible crime you may have committed, intentionally or otherwise.

Finally, finding no crime has been committed, they take you off to jail hoping you will confess to something or other.  When you hire a lawyer, they refuse to honor attorney/client privilege so your own lawyer will be required to testify against you for anything you may have told him, good or bad.

Sound familiar?  It should because this is precisely what the radical Left is doing right now to our President.  The Left was expecting to take control of the country and failing that, they are trying to find something, anything, that will allow them to impeach and remove our President from office. What we are seeing, ladies and gentlemen, is corruption.

If you are a Republican president then you dare not look into Democrat corruption or it will end up in a political war like none other.  How dare anyone look into the millions the Biden family made from China and Ukraine or the millions Hillary and Bill raked in from foreign donors such as Russia.  Remember when Bill Clinton was paid $500,000 to make a speech in Russia while Hillary was Secretary of State?

Seems to me this is the beginning of massive political corruption on the Left. Is this or is this not high treason?
