Local newspapers to host media forum for businesses and non-profits

Knowing the best route to take to promote your business, event, or organization isn’t always easy. To help navigate the local media maze, hear first-hand from The Franklin Press Publisher Rachel Hoskins and Macon County News Reporter Brittney Lofthouse on what they look for when it comes to local press coverage.

Learn the tricks of the trade and how your business, non-profit, church or organization can get your stories heard and spread your message to the community through the local media.

Some information that will be discussed includes:

– What do the local press look for in a press release?

– What do newspapers consider newsworthy?

– Deadlines for local newspapers.

– Formatting information for local newspapers

The Macon County News and The Franklin Press will be holding the forum on Thursday, May 10, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Franklin Chamber of Commerce. The free event is open to anyone interested in learning how to better navigate local media. RSVP by contacting the Franklin Chamber of Commerce at (828) 524-3161.
