Second graders present living wax museum

East Franklin took a step back in time just before the Thanksgiving holiday as 78 second grade students transformed into heroes and influential members of America’s history for a live demonstration wax museum.

The halls of East Franklin were lined with past presidents, inventors, innovators, soldiers, and American icons. When fellow students, parents or teachers walked up to the second grader, in full costume, the student would stand and recite information about their character and share facts off of a display board.

The wax museum took more than a month to develop and included students being assigned a character in October that they had to research and learn all about. The students spent the next month studying their character at home and in class. The students utilized resources such as the internet and history books to compose a handwritten biography on their character.
